Variations with Three Pieces of Tape: Testing Experiment
Aim
To build a model of charge.

Description of the Experiment
Here three pieces of tape are used. Piece 1 is placed sticky side down on the table. Piece 2 is stuck directly onto piece 1 as in the second observation experiment. Then piece 3 is stuck directly onto piece 2. The pieces are then lifted off one by one starting with piece 3. The pieces are then tested next to each other to see if they attract or repel.
If you have a good idea about what is going on, use the model you have constructed to predict whether the forces between 1 & 2, 2 & 3 and 1 & 3 will be attractive or repulsive.
If you are still uncertain about what is going on, use this experiment as a third and final observation experiment.
